Wouldn't it be great if these things were real?

by FUNimation (Paid Advertisement),
When watching your favorite show from FUNimation, do you ever think to yourself, “Wouldn't it be great if that existed in real life?” While many awesome things from our favorite shows have specific intentions in their own world, those same things sure could be handy in our day-to-day lives. Mundane tasks could actually become more fun with a bit of anime sensibility mixed in.

We took a look back at some of our favorite things that would be a lot of fun if they could just become reality. Some things are far-fetched, while others might be scientifically plausible. There's no denying that we could all use a little anime in our lives.

Data Dogs - Cowboy Bebop
Pembroke Welsh Corgis are amazing dogs. With their happy faces and stumpy legs, there's a lot to love. Add enhanced intelligence to the mix, and you have Ein—the canine crew member of the Bebop. Ein's shown the ability to communicate with other animals, hack computers, and even attempt to drive a car. Having your own data dog sure would make communicating with animals a breeze, and make a visit to the zoo a heck of a lot more interesting. Although they are only able to respond with barks, the thought of being able to carry out a conversation with your own dog is mind-blowing!

Cat Sidekicks - Fairy Tail
Aye! We can't ignore cat people now! Natsu's sidekick, Happy, is a magical Exceed—a catlike creature that can both speak and walk upright. Exceed's are powerful, magical creatures who sometimes see themselves as superior to humans, not unlike the cats of our reality. They can also sprout wings and fly—a truly handy ability for our pal, Happy. Instead of your cat ignoring you all day, perhaps he could start helping out around the house. All those hard-to-dust places and tree branches that need trimming would become a breeze. Just make sure you time things well since the wings only last for a limited amount of time.

3-D Mobility Gear - Attack on Titan
The Omni-Directional Mobility Gear is humanity's final weapon against the Titans that threaten their very existence. The gas-powered dual hooks give the skilled wearer ultimate mobility, allowing them to reach the giant's weak points with their sharp blades, and avoid ferocious attacks. While the gear is essential on the battlefield, its possible application in everyday life is undeniable. As fuel permits, scaling large buildings, walls or trees would become a piece of cake. However, it'd be best to use it on things that don't have to stay pretty, as the 3-D Mobility gear tends to poke big holes in the places to which they attach. Missing the bus to work wouldn't be an issue anymore since you could zip quickly across town—just make sure you're ready to pay for any damage you cause during your trip.

Machinart - Unbreakable Machine-Doll
Automatons are intelligent dolls that possess their own personality and free will. Using advanced, magical circuitry, skilled puppeteers are able to use magic to control Machinart, creating fearsome and powerful weapons. However, some automatons like Yaya have other goals—like marrying their puppeteer and having his children! While activities like that might not be what you have in mind, having a beautiful and extremely strong assistant to obey your every command sure could be handy. While the benefits of having magic at your disposal doesn't need to be mentioned, the benefits of having a lovely lady at your side sure makes the world seem a lot less lonely. Are you someone who can look past the fact that your doll isn't “human”?

Devil Fruit - One Piece
One bite of the horrible-tasting Devil Fruit will imbue the diner with strange and wondrous abilities and powers, but the effects vary greatly by fruit. After eating the Gum-Gum Fruit, Monkey D. Luffy became a rubber human able to stretch and twist his body, and even blow himself up like a balloon. After Tony Tony Chopper consumed the Human-Human Fruit, he gained human intelligence and transformation abilities. While it's a bit of a gamble as to what powers you might gain from eating a Devil Fruit, you just might end up with something really handy. The wildest power you could imagine might be one bitter bite away, but there's always the chance that you might not be so lucky and end up with something less practical. Perhaps you might eat a Soap-Soap fruit and be able to produce loads of suds? There's got to a be a positive use for that.

There's never a shortage of wonderfully fantastic and scientifically plausible, trouble-making mayhem on your favorite anime shows. Make sure to pick up your favorite DVDs and Blu-rays at a great price for a limited time at the FUNimation Shop, where you'll find all the hottest anime titles and upcoming releases.
