I'll wait for the Ultra Royal Edition in 2019 that includes 2018's DLC content and patches.

I wonder when they’ll fix the rubbish story. Even just a handful of short cutscenes would help immensely, like when the villain saves you at the volcano and the game makes it sound like you’re gonna be prisoners or something, and then it fades to black and the next scene you’re all fine, just chilling, because the Big Bad let you go but kept the car for some reason.

I’ve yet to dive into FFXV and so now that the Royal Edition is coming out I guess now is as good a time as any. Oh and just please for the love of God Square Enix put all of the DLC on the disk and don’t half ass this re-release.

I don’t think the story in FFXV is rubbish at all. What it does suffer from is being rushed. If the latter half was as dense and filled with as much exposition as the first part then it would have probably been among the best FF stories. But yes as of now there are jarring issues with the story which actually isn’t rare for a series like FF anyways.

I mean if they want to release new dlc I wouldn't say no. New content is always welcomed.

I found FFXV a more character driven piece than anything and on that level it works great. Driving around in your fancy car with the cast of Middle Earth Entourage, going from place to place. That’s great. The usual end of the world story? Eh.

This is why I enjoyed the game. I had more fun running around driving my characters to literal insomnia (Prompto: Can we sleep now? Me: No, a week without rest is fine. We need another 50k xp before we double it at Galdin Quay) doing side quests or exploring every nook and cranny of the open world than completing the hallway end portion of the story. Not that I really had as much of an issue with the original Chapter 13 as everyone else did. I thought the survival horror tone, when all your tools have been lost to you, was an appropriate choice, even if strange for an FF game.

For real I wash my hands with the game after the first playthrough. What a horrible story the only thing the game has going for it is the four main characters and the soundtrack everything else is rubbish. For a final fantasy game it lack basic elements that makes a jrpg, where in the world is the village/towns and responsive npcs etc, the world feels empty and incomplete and i could go on but i think this video say it all https://youtu.be/k6PFfHYVwjM

Unfortunately it seems that Square is cheaping out and that this edition's content may involve a download voucher.

You can still find new copies of 15 brand new in bargin bins for 1000 yen. I'm so glad DQ11 tore this game to shreds in sales. Hopefully Square learns their lesson with games like FF15 and Star Ocean 5 underperforming and stops trying to kill their franchises.

I am sorry to say that it has many games that killed FF15 maybe not in sales but in everything else like the story etc.I have never played DQ but it looks good I have played Persona 5 and some of The legends of heroes series and i have to say that The legend of heroes is one of the most underrated games in the jrpg genre,if you want to know what world building is all about, this game is where its at and as for Persona do i even need to say more.lol

Yeah, for real. Mainly they need to fix the story presentation. It's not even a bad story, it's just told so badly that it has almost no impact. Amazingly the Kingsglaive movie managed to make more sense story-wise than the actual game. I did NOT expect that!
Anyway, I should have waited for this. I played the game on release day, and my brother is playing it now. And at this point it might as well be a completely different game. The monster truck... playing as Prompto the entire time and blowing up all enemies with the bazooka... None of these were possible when I played it.
Although honestly, for people who already have the DLC and patches, what's the selling point here? You can drive the boat?

I really, really, really loved the characters and the way they interacted with each other throughout the game, and I loved the idea of what the story COULD of been. It had the bare bones of a really great story and it fell short. The ending also pissed me off, but more so because I am not a fan of those kind of endings and honestly I need more time with adult Noctis. Man, that beard. You pretty much popped out an adult and then went to your doom straight away.
I am also really miffed that it seems like content that we should of had in the game from the get go was tacked on as DLC. Especially with Ignis DLC. It added another entire ending.
You can say the story felt rushed, and that they rushed it but lets be honest. It took them 10 years to put this game out. It shouldn't of been rushed. With the amount of time that was spent on getting this game out, finally, it should of been a masterpiece and I shouldn't be forking out money for DLC that should of been in the game from the beginning (That I heard was cut for space reasons).
Don't get me wrong. I beat the game. I haven't wasted money on DLC, and a part of me loves it. A part of me is sad for what it looks like it could of been to. I'm mostly decided on never giving square any of my money again though unless it's Kingdom Hearts 3.
