But then it had to be heavily censored in order to make it into a kids show in the States.

I clearly said there are no animation for teen demographics in THE WEST. There's family movies, preschool shows (4-8, eg peppa pig), kids shows (8-12, eg avatar the last airbender) and adult animation. Shounen and shoujo are japanese demographics, hence the japanese loanwords we use for japanese cultural exports.
