I laughed my ass off at GooGoo Dolls greatest hits. Such a terrible band.
To my shame I actually dl'd an episode of eiken just to see what the fuss was about and yes its an anime about gigglin titties that isnt technically porn. reminds me of a Bill Hicks skit.
Producer: so whats gonna be in this anime
Pitcher: erm titties?
Producer: OK OK what will these "titties" be doin?
Pitcher: errm hmmm gigglin?
Producer: Gigglin Titties! boy yous a goddanged genius where you been all my life.
EDIT: Awe crap how the hell did I manage that
Id fix it but I think Ill leave it as a reminder of the dangers of drug abuse.

If they want to bust out some Batman than get the series from the 90's. |
Toon Disney has the airing rights to that show.

I try not to get too "Captain Spell-checker", but the mental image of "giggling titties" is quite a different one from the mental image one gets of "jiggling titties", which I'm sure is what you meant. Heh. It made me giggle.
Sorry. *ahem*

Well I did a little checking, even though The Batman vs. Dracula is only about 90 minutes, they are indeed running a episode of The Batman afterwards, but Naruto will be back again for another 10:30 fill-in next week after Dr. Strange. I guess this every two weeks thing will be the pattern until they run out of episodes for it. Really stinks with how they're treating this show and the other anime they have now.

I am Really hoping they Extend Sci-fi's anime block, maybe even like a 11-1am that would really be something, we could all just forget about CN and AS screwing with our anime, and go find peaceful bliss in Sci-fis' awesome treatment of our beloved hobby.

Actually the current Ani-Monday block does run from 11pm to 1am. I wouldn't mind if they added another night perhaps and actually stick with it for once.

Plus there is a box set of the whole damn series coming out on November 4, I already got mine pre-ordered.

Look under the reruns part. Reruns don't get commentary. He has FMA there though.

Last week's airing of Strait Jacket had very few commercials(every 15-20 minutes), on par with Adult Swim's times between commercial breaks. If they keep that up with TTGL this week, they'll be off to a good start.
I still wish they'd add a repeat of the block 3 hours later though like Adult Swim. Some of us night owls miss the early run and it'd be nice to see the block again. It's not like anyone would really miss those 3am Twilight Zone reruns.

From what I can tell, that's how they have been treating anime movies/OVAs in general. If it's longer than 30 minutes, I think, it gets normal (every 15 minutes or so) commercial breaks.
Unfortunately, I expect SCI FI to continue its 3 commercial breaks per 30 minute episode thing for regular anime TV series, including Gurren Lagann.

It really is a shame what CN/Adult Swim is doing to anime. But at this point I guess it can't be helped anymore. They're just like every other cable network with large national exposure now and only care about profits. They can make more money showing their own crap (and yes quite a lot of it is) than they could showing anime. As much as I hate to even think about it. I'll honestly be surprised if anything besides Bakugan, Pokemon, and Bleach are still premiering new episodes in 2009. |
Well, if much more people actually watch anime on the channel, then they wouldn't have to put them up on ungodly timeslots.
CN has always been about profits. It's just that anime was making them profits during the fad's heyday; that's all. Did you really think otherwise?

I think a vast majority of the anime viewers, were mostlikely watching the anime listed at the sane hours of the night. CN and AS probably just don't give a damn about the viewers and just shoved CG and morbito into the death slot while forcing anime fans to once again choke down reruns. I believe inuyasha is still running I catch glimps of it once in a great while on after midnight on mondays, seriously that horse has had it's run and took a shat kill it already

Ah, but the issue was if much more people watch it. A "vast majority" of, say, 200 000 viewers is still not a lot of people. Otherwise, that would had been reflected in the ratings.

CN doesn't care when there is not enough people watching. As you just said, CN would put on anime reruns when enough people are watching those. Obviously, there are enough viewers of those anime that even reruns are worth it for CN.
Remember, think of this as a business. Don't let fan sentimentality get in the way of doing business. As long as a rerun is making them money, they don't care if some fans think it has been rerun to death (obviously other fans don't think so since it's making them money).

I bet when Bleach gets to around over 150+ episodes, AS will put it in the InuYasha slots. The reason InuYasha is on so much is because it has more episodes than any other AS anime. It'll still premiere at 11pm on Saturdays, but it'll have reruns non-stop. And Magus, InuYasha is on every night except Saturdays(when CG/Moribito premiere), in the graveyard slot.
AS shouldn't get too cocky. Their Top 3 on Sundays are always reruns of shows that another network premieres. Their own original comedies do crap in the ratings. At least the anime are brand new and fresh, usually months ahead of DVD releases. You can't watch CG and Moribito and Bleach premieres a week or 2 earlier on FOX.
