No, its 12-year old girls doing cute things in cute ways so otaku can get off on it.
But this is getting off-topic.

It's about time!!! A friend of mine back in high school told me about this show three years ago; and how he thought it was funnier than the Simpsons! I guess now I can finally see if he was right.

Wow... just... wow. I thought this was the most random strange single episode waste of time I've ever experienced, if I recall (I saw this well over two yers ago), the little kid just starts peeing it the house at random. I personally can't believe it was licensed. I didn't realise people actually liked this show.

It's a different kind of humor from the Simpsons, but I'd agree. While I was reading the comics, I was reminded of a much more brash, irreverent Calvin and Hobbes. Some of the things this kid says is amazing and hilarious if you talk to real little kids at all. I feel a little sorry for his poor parents sometimes, but Shin chan is great.

I think the best thing about Shin chan is that he is able to act innocent even though he is doing things that wind up everyone and usually he causes the most embarasment to everyone else apart from himself.
The Manga is great, its a shame it got stopped at volume 10.
If Funimation in anyway edits this show I will ....be very unhappy.

Why are people deluding themselves into thinking that FUNi is going to edit this show? Confused

Probably because some of Shin-chan's past TV airings outside of Japan were edited because the stations that aired it thought it was a kid's title and the content was not suitable.

So, if it airs in the US, it will probably come down to who is the target audience and whether or not the content is suitable.

I've heard of Crayon Shin-chan but never had a clue what it was about. If it is Cute Girls Doing Cute THings, I may give it a look.

Awesome, collective Mr. Elephant Dance (tm) time.

I just hope the dudes that pick up the manga keep it unedited and a regular pace. Is it true the manga is over 60 trade paperbacks long?

As for the anime, it's 394 eps big (according to AniDB), along with 4 other movies. Only if it comes out in ~50ep discs (i.e. blu-ray) i'll buy it. Otherwise it's impossible.

Greets

[edit] Corrected the number of eps for the anime, and added the movies. [/edit]

Dr Master did change the names in the manga at one point-possibly in anticipation of the UK dub. But hopefully, unlike Conan, we won't have that problem.

@cyrax777: That's why I said the target population defines whether its edited or not. Korean version was edited because the target audience was children. UK version was English dub and edited. I also read that the Hawaian version was subtitle only which also means an older target population by default imo. A subtitle only broadcast most likely won't happen on mainland US TV.

One of KIKU-TV's bylines was it's "The Bart Simpson of Japan."
