Ok, you got me with the kinky part.

But seriously though I don't know what's so important about sex that you need an entire museum to educate people. That's the job for health class.

Isn't that like saying we don't need regular museums, that's what history, natural history, Earth science, social studies class is for?

History is lot longer though (no pun intended) and there's too much material for a few classes to cover. Sex, well, I don't see what more needs to be learned after one semester of it.

I like how the theater workers consider it more as a spectacle than something shocking.

Well, unsafe sex can lead to STDs.

Besides, museums can be about pretty much anything, as long as enough interested people stop in to visit. You're not going to learn much visiting the Museum of Jurassic Technology or any of the Madame Tussaud's, but people sure do like to stop on by.

Japanese sex museums are where your sanity goes to die

Love Doll Exhibit! Japan’s “Sex Museum”! Bikini Robot Warriors! Wild Tokyo Nightlife!

Japan’s “The Life and Sex Museum” Welcomes You, But Remember It’s Not a Sex Museum!

They talk about that in health class as well. In fact, they get very in depth on the different types of STDs there are.

Are you speaking of Japanese health classes? If not than where. The contents of health (sex education) classes varies greatly within the US. Does anyone know if Japanese schools teach sex education?

An advertisement on the train recently had a pregnant woman, happy, saying, "I've fulfilled my duty to society. What have you done?" and under it, "Stop the non-reproductive sleepovers!" --It was a government-sponsored ad. The government is trying to encourage people to settle down, get married, and have children because of the worrisome birthrate decline, but their methods are basically about shaming those who don't. Good job, government.

Heheh, train ads....... Laughing

Manga poster guy asks something much more shocking than 'Will you be my girlfriend?'

(One can guess from the picture.)

U.S. At least in Ohio it's required for schools to teach students about STDs I believe. I mean if you teach students about sex, you can't leave out the side effects and consequences of it. That would be like giving someone Viagra and not telling them what to do if effects last over 24 hours. Laughing

With us, sex education was one week long and in the 7th grade, before any of us had any clear idea on what sex is (other than that our favorite musicians had lots of it).

Naturally, it being in middle school, lots of giggling was had (unusually, even by the teacher).

Well that's middle school of course. Back in my middle school we only had one day of sex talk, and that was just a 40 minute video about the basics of the human reproductive system. The teachers would herd all the boys to one room and all the girls to another, and after the video the girls would get this bag of things that the boys didn't. Sex education in high school is very different.

Well, one thing I meant was that there was no sex education at my high school. The people running the school deemed it unnecessary, as it was not part of graduation requirements and they figured we all knew enough about sex that a class would be pointless. The people who'd practice unsafe sex would continue to do so, sex education or not.

In my junior year in the last week they separated the girls from the boys for one class. I'm not sure what they told the girls. In the boys class the gym teacher who taught the class spent the first ten minutes telling us not to make stupid jokes during the class. He then asked if any body had any questions or if there was anything someone didn't understand about sex. This resulted in dead silence. No 16 or 17 year old boy was going to admit in front of his classmates that there was anything he didn't understand. That was the whole of our sex education.

I would still like to know if Japanese schools have some form of sex education. I certainly haven't seen it mentioned in either anime or manga.

I've been homeschooled/online schooled for my entire life... and unmonitored, unrestricted access to the abyss called the internet was my sex education, lol.

Yes, I still remember the day I searched "What is spoiler[porn]?" on Google. I felt like the secrets of the world were revealed to me that day.
