Me, I'm going to assume that FUNi's legal team knows how to do their job, and the letters had teeth enough to get sites taken offline by ISPs, at least tempoarily, IIRC.

This is true up to the point where Funimation (or Gonzo) produces documents stating that Gonzo has requested Funimation to act on their behalf for all titles in the US, whether or not they actually hold the licenses for them or not.

Representative proxy, if it can be established, would allow the court to give Funimation all the rights and privileges as the legal owners of the license since they were acting as the legal representatives of the actual legal owners, with their permission.
