I don't think that's what he's saying. I think what he's saying is that, despite people having varied definitions for "moé," it's rarely unclear what someone is talking about when they talk about moé, and it's rarely necessary for someone to articulate their personal definition to explain their interpretation.

That is to say, it's not "I can't quite define it but I know it when I see it," it's "I understand what you're talking about and don't need it spelled out for me, even though we're talking about two different interpretations."

For whatever it's worth, I quite enjoyed my discussion with Timeenforceranubis. It seems to me like he's one of the people that is actually having substantial discussions with people and I didn't find for a minute find that he tried to act superior or make this a "dick-measuring contest" as you call it.
