^ Well, for the dub of 009: Re-Cyborg, they got NYAV to do it.
Manga also got NYAV for the dub of Welcome to the Space Show in UK. The Time of Eve kickstarter is using them as well. Anyways, I've never seen this film, but I like Madhouse, especially their movies, so I am very inclined to support.

One more thing, then I swear I'll drop the subject.

This is the age-old "Sub vs Dub" debate in a nutshell:

....Eh, why the heck not?

Backed. Smile

EDIT: Wow, they've barely been live for any amount of time at all, and already they've gotten one third of the amount needed.

It won't be long at all until we start talking about stretch goals.

Just funny that the pledge levels jump from $250 to $10,000.

Yeah, NYAV has also had a really nice mix of VAs in their recent dubs.

Then there is people like me who quite like both subs and dubs and I also think that the idea that Japanese voice talent is inherently better than North American voice talent is rather disrespectful to VAs. For example, in Gurren Lagann I'll take Hyden Walch and Bridget Hoffman's Nia Tepplin over Yukari Fukui's any day.... I just found Fukui painful to listen to.

...conversely I prefer Katsuyuki Konishi's Kamina to Kyle Hebert's, and I Like Kyle Hebert it is just Konishi OOZES passion in an irrepressible way that Herbert didn't quite match.

Agreed, I like both dubs and subs and I too think it can easily even go back and forth within a show itself which is better, I love having both when I buy.

I'm not sure it's something I'd be super-interested enough to back myself, but I'm glad to see how quickly their total has shot up. I'll set it to send me a reminder anyway. Smile

Will the kickstarter and or Anime Limited brand name really mean an order of magnitude difference in pledges vs. Anime Sols?
Or is it the strength of the movie, maybe?
We will see!

As a brand, the power behind Anime Limited lies in it's titles and, for me at least, in loyalty to Andrew Partridge. You'll know that I have a high degree of respect for you as well, but not having access to your site I've not even considered any of the titles you have.
I'm also generally more interested in newer titles. Given my limited finances, for me to consider an older title it would have to be one that has significant meaning to me already.
