Anyway, I am glad Symphogear will have another well-deserved season, although I did not expect to see this so early. I love both seasons but I hope that the next one will have better characterizations, storylines, and more songs.

Yes Chris and Tsubasa have a close relationship, and I love seeing them together. Yes, Miku and Hibiki are childhood friends. There is no proof in the anime that says THEY ARE LESBIANS.
So anyway, even if you don't like yuri, this anime is awesome, and I really do suggest watching it. |
This is what I thought too. But then I read spoilers and saw that the show was blatantly going in that route so I said "eff this" and dropped it.
It was truly painful. I love this show, I really do. But I can't watch yuri. Not at all.

Nobody is forcing you to care about shows with yuri undertones, by the way.

While in actual dialog Hibiki and Miku's relationship isn't explicitly expressed as romantic, the songs make it quite clear.
Remember, a Symphogear's songs are generated from their feelings, resonating with the Relics.

You can't ignore the songs in Symphogear, they are very important to the emotional state of the girls, since they are reflections of their feelings.
Distorted Mirror: Shenshoujing and Rainbow Flower are all about how Miku and Hibiki feel about each other, and its not at all subtle or hard to understand. And that is on top of other such minor things as, you know, sleeping in the same bed.

I can guess that you're are absolutely going to hate Sakura Trick then.  Where the characters are definitely lesbians and no implied or only subtext(like Symphogear is). And of course, Chagen still uses 4chan comparisons for his pro-yaoi, anti-yuri crusade.
It's a shame that this series has not been licensed yet(I would gladly watch this subbed).

The show basically beats us over the head with the fact that Hibiki and Miku are a couple. It never actually uses the word, but its about as subtle as StrikerS-era Nanoha and Fate. |
And let's not forget the Shirabe/Kirika duet near the end. I don't know how you can watch that and read/hear the lyrics and think "they're just good friends".

I am continually amazed at how some people became so invested in Kanade that they refused to let themselves even attempt to enjoy the rest of the show. And have since constructed a mythology about how she would have been SUCH a better lead character than Hibiki, and the entire show was ruined by her death.
Which is just weird. |
I love Kanade because she's a mature, uncutesy woman with an awesome design and voice. I would love to see her play a part in the third season. I'm done with the amount of cutesy characters we got in G (the change in Chris's attitude, Shirabe, Kirika, Miku, Hibiki, *barf*)
But I love Symphogear, and I'm wondering which awesome singing seiyuu we'll get next! I'm hoping Aya Hirano (is shot by rabid male fans). |

You don't have to tell me that, I totally believe the girls all like other girls, but it's only hints and expressions, nothing is ever acted on. I would kill for some legit confessions in season 3, but I strongly doubt we'll see it.

Then don't watch them, and don't post in threads about them. I also don't care for it and find most of it to be pandering garbage that demonstrates anime is no better in that respect than the domestic media the fans like to point their fingers at. But I'm not in every thread trying to turn the discussion in to a general "Why I don't like this genre" thread. If you don't like the stuff, and haven't watched it (or seen enough to warrant comment) then leave the thread be for those who are fans and go find a thread relevant to your tastes and what you have watched.
Now we're not saying you can't talk about a show you don't like, not at all. We're not going to censor opinions simply because one person has an opinion the majority involved don't agree with (no matter how many people reporting seem to think we will). What we are saying is that if you are going to divert any and every discussion on a yuri title in to a general discussion on why you don't like the stuff then you're crossing the soapboxing line. We want people to talk about the titles and reviews associated with talkback thread, not talk about chagen and what he does or does not like. Your behavior has improved over time, but this issue is still a sticking point; try and work on it.
