I have nothing against moe, as long as it is in it's place. I enjoyed Air TV. However, I think a certain amount of general moe/kawaii geekery in that show served to limit it. The movie stripped out those elements, and I would argue that as a result it may have rose above the subject matter at least in that regard. I hope this work maintains a sensible approach.
