HTTP servers aren't the problem, they get hacked everyday. HTTP servers are just paper bags for a aluminum can filled with concrete.
their problem is their server ports, If you don't keep your ports protected then you're like an ant ready to be squished. ports are usually the problem for all info leakage. sending data toand from it, they probably neglected security due to a large sum of Funimation profits plummeting last year and this year. [insane unrelated rambling deleted for brevity]
Closing ports is no security at all. Never mind that ports have as much to do with this leak as the price of cheese.

If you aren't running services on a port, then closing the port doesn't do anything.

If you are running services on a port, closing the port means others are unable to access those services.

The only reason to close/firewall ports is if you have services running that you don't trust which may be insecure or have bugs, or if you have them configured in a way that provides easy access for you, but want others not to have it.

This is the reason that many people aren't truly protected by a firewall. They don't really understand it's purpose. It's exactly the same as microsoft's new "I like to ask you the same question 5 times" UAC. It may be a nice idea, but without basic user understanding it's worthless.

There's another real - IT misnomer that is often used. Unauthorized access to computer systems and networks is often referred to as "trespassing" even when said networks are easily accessible (relatively speaking) from the public Internet.

Note 3: Security through obfuscation. In the last couple years a lot of people have taken the criticism limitations of security through obfuscation to mean that it is not a legitimate security measure. That's bull. It is a very real and effective part of many security plans. Unfortunately it is only a part, and a supporting part at that. Obfuscation should never be the entire or primary method of security.

Note 4: Now for the famous "was there a hack" issue. There was. It might be one of the simplest hacks in history, but randomly guessing and/or deducing the file names based on patterns, and then testing them is hacking. It's no different from randomly guessing and trying passwords.

Regarding app and device security. Companies that produce both apps and devices ranging from cell phones, to laptops and computers. They should be more concerned about the security of the information that is transmitted through these devices. Cell phones are becoming more widespread and more and more information is flowing through them. Test engineers are now becoming more and more important. Both android and ios app penetration testing have to be done with so many factors in mind. Cybercrime is always looking for new vulnerabilities and so manufacturers need to ensure that their software and products are properly secured.
