I, eh, was having my meal (midnight snack at 5am?) when that scene appeared, so I didn't really pay much attention (pizza > anime). But had a good laugh when you posted it though.

I don't have a minigame ready so... feel free to post one.

Whoops! Totally forgot about this! Umm... crap... let's go with this one.

SUBS:

Character A: Isn't it hard for you to sleep?
Character B: It's summer in Japan, after all. You don't like summer?
Character A: It's not that. But if not for that summer, I might have liked it better.
Character B: It's not summer's fault.
Character A: Yeah, you're right.

That's spoiler[Akaishi (A) and Kou (B), in episode 46 of Cross Game -- and, obviously, they're referring to the summer when Tsukishima Wakaba drowned.].

That is accurate kind sir. I didn't want to use a spoiler[Cross Game] quote so soon but I got caught with my pants down so I did one. And for shame Key. For shame.

Anyways your up abunai.

I'm guessing Key just didn't spot it before I did. In general, I suggest you all forget about quoting Cross Game for a long time to come, since either one of us will get them right away. We're just that smitten with that anime.

Onward...

A (internal monologue): 古い物達の臭い。忘れられた作品達。
A (aloud): 春の…女神? 奇麗…
A (internal monologue): なんか落ち着く。
A (internal monologue): 人の中にいろへ、ここのほうがずっと…

A (internal monologue): Furui mono-tachi no nioi. Wasurerareta sakuhin-tachi.
A (aloud): Haru no... megami? Kirei...
A (internal monologue): Nanka ochitsuku.
A (internal monologue): Hito no naka ni iru e, koko no hou ga zutto...

A (internal monologue): The smell of old things. Forgotten works.
A (aloud): The goddess of... spring? How pretty...
A (internal monologue): Somehow, it puts me at ease.
A (internal monologue): Rather than being out among people, being here is so much more...

Note: sakuhin-tachi in the first line is translated "works", but the specific meaning is "opuses" (that would be "opera" for us Latinists, but saying that would cause a misunderstanding, so never mind) or "performances".

Spot on, and I must admit that I'm rather impressed that this one went by so fast -- I considered it a hard one.

Your ball.

Next up is from the subs:

A: This is like Hide and Seek of Death! I remember now!
B: Remembered... what?
A: When I was a kid, mama covered her face with her blond hair then came into my room saying "I found you!" I was so scared that I cried and screamed my lungs out! And since then I've had a fear of hide and seek and blond hair.

Yep, yep. Context is a bit off, since this was from when they first climbed onto the porch and were still outside the room. I think she was still muttering about blond hair while hiding in the closet a few scenes later. You're up.

Hint #1: spoiler[The romantically frustrated older woman who is speaking acts as a mother figure to the pilots she takes care of.]

Hint #2: spoiler[After the protagonist being addressed is brought to the base, the meeting with the parent in charge of the secret project reveals a poor parent-child relationship that resulted from neglect and abandonment.]

Hint #3: spoiler[While the giant robots of this TV series were based on and made to fight naturally occurring giant creatures, it's other conspiring humans who turn out to be the ultimate enemy.]

Hint #4: spoiler[This line only appears in episode 13 in the extended DVD release.]

I really should have placed this one after the third hint, but got distracted into thinking it might have been in Brain Powerd instead.

It's spoiler[Minami to Aoba in the bonus 13th episode of Jinki: Extend (nice double-layered hint there), as they're cleaning out a house. (The one Aoba lived in with her grandmother, I think?)]
