Hiroki Miyashita, Takeshi Natsuhara Launch New Manga in July

Ninkyō Tensei manga centers on yakuza who reincarnates as fantasy world princess

The July issue of Shogakukan's Sunday GX magazine revealed on Wednesday that artist Hiroki Miyashita and writer Takeshi Natsuhara will collaborate on a new manga titled Ninkyō Tensei (Chivalrous Reincarnation) that will start in the magazine's combined August-September issue on July 19. Natsuhara is credited with the original concept, and Miyashi is drawing the manga.

The manga will focus on an old-fashioned yakuza member who made a career in the underworld. When he is caught in a trap and loses his life, he is reincarnated as a princess in fantasy world. While now a beautiful girl, the yakuza still retains the values tempered from a life in a world without honor and humanity.

Natsuhara previously collaborated with Kuromaru on the Kurosagi manga series, which ran from 2003 to 2008, with 20 compiled book volumes. The next series, titled Shin Kurosagi, launched in 2008, and ran until 2012, with 18 compiled book volumes. Shin Kurosagi Kanketsu-hen began in 2012, and ended in 2013, with four compiled book volumes. The manga series inspired a live-action television series in 2006.
