Perfect, considering how the main female character is deaf! Other deaf people will be able to understand it, too; how considerate!
Also, this article says that advance tickets will go on sale on June 4, and it was said in a future tense. Since June 4 has already come and gone, shouldn't you be mentioning it in a past tense? |

Japan has never been exactly renown for it's support for the disabled. You just look at the number of schools that have no provision for wheelchair access which is mandatory in a large number of western countries. |

I've never even heard of RWC before lol. Never seen it used ever, if it's even available here.

" Must've missed this news....but...why is that news? And I don't mean that in the grumpy "LOL THAT's NOT NEWS" kinda way, but like...why isn't it normal to provide things like that? When it comes to foreign media, practically they're all CC'd (subs), but you would be surprise how many production companies, and not just Japanese ones, don't include any kind of captioning in their entertainment products they're marketing for the domestic consumer base. |

Because people honestly don't pay attention. TBS started putting Japanese subtitles on their bigger titles from KyoAni starting with the BD-Boxes of AIR, Kanon, and Clannad. Similarly, KyoAni-published titles like Love, Chunibyo, and Other Delusions (and since then) have had Japanese subtitles as well. These tend to cover everything but some "making of" features and commentary tracks. The Girls und Panzar release just had subtitles for the movie; even the trailers didn't have subtitles unlike the TBS/KyoAni releases. Since it's not of much importance to anyone outside of Japan, these things tend to get ignored. A lot of dramas have subtitle tracks as well, but since most people want those with English subtitles, that's ignored too. Anime, especially when it's produced by companies other than TV stations, tend to be lazy and not put the subtitles on there. |

This is awesome! As someone who is hard of hearing, I'd really love if theaters everywhere were able to do something like this. I'm not deaf enough to not be able to go to a movie and enjoy myself, but I AM deaf enough to miss things sometimes and have to bug my friend about what was said here and there while watching. An option to view movies with subtitles would be really cool, in my opinion.
However, on the flip side, I know of a lot of people who CAN'T enjoy a movie with subtitles. My mother, for one. Even though she's not hearing impaired, she can't help but read the subtitles when they're there. But she's a slow reader, so she can't read fast enough and ends up missing things and can't enjoy what's actually going on. so i get both sides of the coin. Still wish this was an option though. Even if it was only a once a week option, like, one showing of film xyz during a Sunday or something would have subtitles/captions. |

My local, mom-and-pop, single-screen theater does this. Sunday has an early matinee, which is always closed captioned. |
