Funimation and New Video Group released the series on home video.

Wait what? Since when did Funi even get the license for Yu-Gi-Oh? Let alone made home video release? This must be an error.

Believe 4Kids did a Home Video Distribution deal with Funimation way back when YGO was popular. Can't remember the full details, but there was trouble when it turned out one company was keeping profits of the DVDs they owed to the Japanese company that resulted in lawsuits and pretty much destroyed the 4Kids of old, leaving us with what we have today.

Again can't remember the full details but you should be able to google it...

Funimation distributed 4Kids DVDs between 2002 and 2008. Look at the back of any Yu-Gi-Oh DVD released between those years, you'll see a Funimation logo.
