Nice glad to see HIDIVE is getting used to stream Simulicasts instead of the series being shunted off to Anime Strike for North American viewers and HIDIVE for Worldwide viewers. Now someone just needs to pick up Pop Team Epic and my Winter Anime Season 2018 is set.

I'm trying my best not to get my hopes up too soon, but we might just be seeing the dissolution of the Amazon/Sentai partnership happening. Or at least, a change in their partnership that allows the shows they license to stream both on Anime Strike and HIDIVE simultaneously.

Either way, I'll be watching this upcoming season with piqued interest.

Man if Sentai stopped their partnership with Amazon, they must be biting their nails they haven't done last season or the one before with Made in Abyss and Lustrous being in the spotlight. Would have been awesome advertising for Hidive.

Of course maybe they didn't, but none of their new acquisitions have been announced for Strike yet no?

I haven't seen any so far. Outside of the financial benefits, it seems like there wasn't much to be gained for Sentai, especially if they are still trying to build Hidive, which needs to have new content to catch people's attention.

The big question is who will be streaming the other Sentai shows since this might just be the Hidive service getting a bigger show than what they have gotten in previous seasons.

If they keep this up I might actually have a reason to subscribe to HiDive. Though I wish they would’ve just put their shows on both Strike and HiDive to begin with (it’s their lisence, they can do what they want with it), as I really hated pirating MiA, Lustrous, etc.

HiDive? I would have preferred Crunchyroll, but after Amazon, I’ll take it. Besides, if they will be a long time service for Sentai, they will need as much support that they can get to improve. I don’t like having to pay for another service, but I’ll do it to help convince Sentai that sticking with Amazon is a bad show.

If people actually bothered to check, they would know that Sentai’s catalogue (pre-anime strike) + dubs are available on Hidive for America + internationally. Also, Sentai content has been *mysteriously* disappearing from Crunchyroll. So soon, if / when most Sentai content has disappeared from CR, people who used CR for older Sentai series will have to use Hidive, It’s a slow and painful process, but Sentai is on the path to building itself up again.

To survive, it’s important to transform. And that’s what Sentai’s doing.

(I will feel very betrayed if Hidive goes to simulcast only for North America like Anime Strike)

The good news is that subscribing to Strike will not be worth it for Winter 2018 if they only have 4 new "simulcasts". I have been subscribed to HIDIVE for a month, and I am dropping Anime Strike and their late episode uploads, sometimes even without subtitles.

Sentai has been trying to beef up HiDive for a bit, so hopefully this gamble works for them. If nothing else, they seem to be putting a bigger show on their own service, so they're trying.

There's still a few more titles up for grabs, so I'm not counting on them dumping Strike yet.

At least HiDive is cheap. If you like dubs or want to check out their backlog it's worth it.

Awesome! Hopefully this trend continues. Now they just need to go full speed into full home apps for HiDive such as for PS4, Apple TV, etc. Then it will be a worthwhile sub. I'm going to sub this season though if all of Sentai's shows end up on their just to support their moving away from Amazon Shi- I mean Strike.

I think that Sentai will license Gakuen Babysitters, Marchen Madchen, The Ryuo’s Work is Never Done, and maybe Pop Team Epic and Soul Hunter. I also think they will license Violet Evergarden for home video.

I hope you are right. They should also try to get the Little Witch Academia series for home video.

If you really want to push them away from Amazon you should probably just sub anyway. If enough fans sub and make HiDive lucrative enough, they wouldn't need Amazon. I think an Answerman sort of touched on this a little while back:

I could see them getting those, but I'm particularly expecting them to get the bolded.

Crunchyroll just announced they got Gakuen Babysitters and The Ryuo’s Work is Never Done.
