This is more like a mercy passing of the baton. "Please...just take it. We've embarrassed everyone enough for a year."

Was Kira Kira Precure really that bad? I know the fighting scenes didn't have physical combat that it's infamously known for, but I have heard they compensated in other aspects. Like I've seen screenshots where the Precure are brainwashed, and their world got turned into a "no-fun-allowed" 1984-esque dystopia.

That episode was so boring you won't believe it.

Junichi Sato is involved?
I might look into this one.

It’s been a long time since I last watched a Precure series.

I really liked KiraKira, but I'm not especially surprised that a lot of the fandom didn't, if that makes sense. I'll miss it a lot, but I'm also genuinely looking forward to Hugtto. Cute Yell has managed to become an early addition to my favorite Cures list just for design and character description.

No.
I follow Precure since Doki Doki, and I'm sure every season there's some people claiming it's "the worst Precure ever". That just shows how the series keep changing their styles with each season, I guess.
Of course, there's always those "It's not Heartcatch, so I hate it!" people.

The disaster is over, all that's left is 100% pure hype. It's like going from total ruins to better than before the disaster instantaneously. I can't wait until next weekend.

I haven't seen much of KiraKira though I personally enjoyed what I saw but I'm really looking forward to the new series because Junichi Sato is one of my favorite anime directors and I'm excited he's doing a magical girl series again.

This is such a neat tradition.

I actually didn't think KiraKira was that bad, but I'm much more excited for Hugtto. Looking forward to the premiere next Sunday. Very Happy
