I'm not surprised. I kept seeing people commenting about not being able to go because it was sold out. I normally don't pre-order tickets for movies, but I'm glad I did this time because the screening I went to was sold out, and it was in what was one of the smallest cities to have a showing.

I'm glad this is happening for people who wanted to see the movie. I almost didn't get to go myself for school reasons, but I saw it this past Monday when they added more screenings and it was definitely worth it.

I hope the success of the MHA movie will show that fans would love to see more anime movie screenings offered internationally, such as the Natsume's Book of Friends movie coming out soon. Maybe offer the screenings in more smaller towns too, as I've seen posts from residents of small towns whose only choice is to travel an hour or two away to see it.

I was really surprised to see just how fast the theaters in my city sold out. The dub was up for quite a while until it was full, but the subbed version was full almost immediately. I figured I would wait to buy tickets since showings usually don't fill up very much here, but that was a huge mistake. Hopefully my bf and I can make it to this one.

$4 million is pretty good. That’s more than Princess Mononoke.

Edit: Holy cow. Box Office Mojo just updated for October 2nd, and the MHA movie has now officially earned over $5 million, which is more than Your Name, believe it or not.

Like people said here, not surprised. I went last night in Montreal and the theater was full.

Went yesterday night here in Miami at Sunset place mall and it sold out like an hour before the movie started. Good thing I purchased the tickets beforehand an got there like 2 hours before so I was able to get some really good seats. My girlfriend who is not and anime fan was laughing when she heard me say that it was going to sell out lol guess it was jokes on her. The movie itself was awesome!

Saw it the first day of subtitled screenings on September 26th. The movie was EPIC. Glad to see people supporting this instead of waiting to steal it online. Step in the right direction for the industry.
