What do they mean it’s going to end are They saying episode 170 will be the final episode that quickly, how are they gonna finish the Spade Kingdom Arc with only a few episodes it’ll have!?

They really should have ended it after the Elf Arc. Ending it in the middle of the Spade Arc after getting all that filler really annoys me. If they really needed to fill the timeslot they could have adapted something else or reran something.

Half of me is a little relieved because I've been wanting to take a break from BC for a while now (a longer one than the covid-19 enforced break). I've been watching weekly since episode 1. The other half of me is concerned the "final" episode is going to end on a cliffhanger.

I suspect BC will do what Fairy Tail did. FT originally ran for 175 episodes straight and then stopped but resumed for a "second" and "third" seasons. I'm sure the "major announcement" will be that BC will resume at some point in the future by which time I'll be ready, I presume.

Most people don't like filler seasons any more after Boku no Hero has shown long running manga/anime can do seasonally better than always running show so the annoucement is that they go on but whit seasons rather than always running

I was expecting Black Clover to run until June at least, but given how the show went back to covering the manga sooner than expected and at a reasonably fast pace (the first four episodes of the year blew through almost an entire volume), I knew it was going to end sometime this year. I suspected the new Bleach TV series would take over its time slot, but it seems Tite Kubo recently said it will air after midnight, so I don't know what to expect now.

Still, here's hoping the Black Clover anime will come back at some point to finish the Spade Kingdom arc at least.

If they are going to cut it off looks this, what was the point of all that filler?

Either stop when you're out of material, or do annoying terrible filler -not both!

I'm assuming the special announcement will be that it will return sometime fairly soon. Aside from an episode here or there, Black Clover avoided filler until this season, so some breathing room could do it some good.

I'm going to hope like, what had been mentioned here, that they're going to take a break in order to gain a larger gap between the anime and the manga, and will continue at some point down the line. Still makes me sad that it's coming to an end like this, though.

Maybe it was just due to the adaptation not being as good as it could have been (from what I hear people say), but Black Clover just didn't interest me nearly as much as previous Shounen Jump series. It honestly just felt like this weird amalgamation of ideas taken from Bleach and Naruto, but not done as well. I tried to give it a chance, but I eventually dropped it.

I hope they announce that they are just taking a break to focus on Bleach and will continue after Bleach project.

I fully expect them to announce Black Clover will be pulling the InuYasha/ Fairy Tail card and be returning later with a final season.

It does take HEAVY inspiration from older shounen and it’s pacing is way too fast IMO. Not enough time to really digest things or spend time with characters when it’s just fight central.
I dropped the manga twice and then eventually got to the elf arc, where I thought it improved a lot. It’s still not amazing or anything though. And I feel my hero academia is the superior shounen story. Since it’s more balanced in its content , and has more depth.

So this ain’t really a recommendation, just explaining how I went through it... if you want a recommendation, Attack on Titan and Re Zero! Those are the best series around

I only read the manga, but it seems like the anime can't help catching up to it(besides the Covid break, production has been almost non-stop since it premiered). Either way, I really hope they're just taking an actual break in order to do another season with lots of material, rather than ending the series to focus on animating what is arguably the shittiest arc of Bleach(and I say that as someone who read the next chapter each week, wanting it to be good). Confused
