OK wait, the director's other directorial credit is *that* Chaos Dragon.
Should I be worried?

The original LN is crazy. But it's concerning whether the adaptation can keep up.

JC Staff in general has a pretty bad track record of how they treat light novel adaptations (yeah some of their manga adaptations weren't so good either, but adapting LNs into anime is something they struggle even more with from what I've heard), so uh… yeah.

it was based on a game so it wasn't easy to adapt as a directorial debut for an episode director but he did improved with Chronos Ruler direction-wise and his action direction was good.

their manga adaptations are good while light novels are hard to adapt but they do them decently at least (it doesn't have to be 1:1 adaptation lol)

and so you don't say index wasn't any better especially index's third season since it was rushed because kadokawa asked them to adapt more than they can handle so not really their fault in tight schedule for a 2 cour so they didn't had much time to do it well but it had its moments at least.
