For Frieren to only now get an Award seems to be purely because of the Anime. I mean is over 12 Volumes already.
Although im Pro Manga, the Anime is like way better than the Manga, so i get why it only gets an Award now lol

It's not the first manga award that Frieren has won. Although I find it strange that it hasn't been nominated for the Shogakukan award before, I'm glad that it won on its first nomination.

Frieren won the Manga Taisho Award almost three years ago. It also won the New Creator Prize at the Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize contest. Frieren is not new to accolades.
