They're all so adorable. Wish them the best with this movie.

I'm so pleasantly surprised by how they changed Menma's hairstyle. It was pretty but boring in the anime, so I love the addition of side braids and the flower accessories.

I was gonna comment on how Menma looks like she's hardly grown then I see it's because he actress is 14. Is her ghost supposed to be that much younger than everyone else? Seems kinda awkward. 7 years younger than Poppo's actor, 4 younger than her love interest. I know their real ages don't make anything but she LOOKS much younger than them....

I don't think Menma had aged all that much when she returns in ghost form so her choice of actress seems like a good one to me. It's a bit uncanny how the actors do have similarities to their anime counterparts. My only issue is that they could have given Minami Hamabe a grey wig to give her that ghostly look that fitted so well with Menma's look.

One of the reasons I couldn't continue past the first episode is due to how Menma still look like a ten year old and in the first episode, the main guy was turned on by her and had even commented how it was normal since her body supposedly aged. No, the dang girl still look and acted like a kid. It is one of those instances in anime where they don't wont to make the character an actual ten year old, they just go with a character design of a ten year old and make her older. Sometimes it works and you tend to forget the kid frame like in ToraDora, but when the character still acts like a fricken seven year old, the illusion is lost and all I see is a young child being hit on by an older male.

I guess they couldn't find an older actress with the look of a child, so they went ahead and cast an actual young actress.

You're really missing out if you only watched the first episode. Honestly, the rest of the series isn't even like that. It was left over from when AnoHana was supposed to be more ecchi.

Anyway, can't wait for this. Looks like it's going to be over 2 hours, which means this will be a more bare bones story compared to the anime. I wonder how closely this will follow the anime, or will it be more original material? Either way, this is most excited I think i've ever been for a live action adaption of an anime.
