posted on by Eric Stimson
Ichiban Kuji, the Japanese lottery that features anime-themed prizes, is offering prizes this month related to Insufficient Direction, a manga by Moyoco Anno, Hideaki Anno's wife.
This week's prize is a calendar for the months of September to November. It features scenes from Rompers and Kantoku-kun's bizarre life. The prize expires on August 24.

Next week (August 25-31), winners get these special sketches of Rompers and Kantoku-kun, discussing trifles like sofas and wood ear.

Meanwhile, the mobile lottery's A prize is an Insufficient Direction DVD signed by both Hideaki and Moyoco Anno, along with the manga. The B prize is an Insufficient Direction manga, again signed by both Annos. The C prize is one of the drawings seen below (of your choice) which is delivered digitally. They're meant for attachment to e-mails as ersatz emoticons.

Insufficient Direction is a 'slice-of-life'-style manga about an oversized baby's marriage to an unusual anime director known as Kantoku-kun ("Director"). It is highly autobiographical. The manga is available in English by Vertical. An anime version aired in April, yet remains unlicensed.
