posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Video game website Game Informer began streaming a video on Tuesday that features new footage from Activision and Platinum Games' upcoming Transformers: Devastation action game. The video features the Constructicons and their combined form as Devastator, as well as the Comic-Con exclusive Constructicon and combined Devastator figure.
The game's official Facebook page also posted a profile image and video for Motormaster last week, and then posted a profile image and video of Blitzwing this week.
Activision also streamed a playable character video last week.
Activision and Platinum Games will release the game on the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC on October 6. Those who pre-order the game will get three character skins (Nemesis Prime, Red Alert, Goldfire) as well as three weapons (Dark Star Saber, Photon Disruptor, Twin Golden Hunter).
Kenji Saito (Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance) is directing the game's development team that includes staff members from Bayonetta 2 and The Legend of Korra. The game is single-player only, and the game offers an Autobot-only roster for player characters. The game not only draws inspiration from the original 1980s animated series, but also from the ongoing Transformers comics from IDW.
According to a previous listing, the game will have five playable Autobots: Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Sideswipe, Wheeljack, and Grimlock. Peter Cullen (Optimus Prime), Dan Gilvezan (Bumblebee), Frank Welker (Megatron and Soundwave), and other voice actors from the original 1980s animated television series are reprising their roles.
