Nodame Cantabile Gets 1-Shot Manga in February

The March issue of Kodansha's Kiss magazine revealed on Monday that Tomoko Ninomiya will publish a one-shot manga for her Nodame Cantabile manga series in the magazine's next issue, which Kodansha will publish on February 25. The story will revolve around Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 3.
The original manga series centers around Nodame and Chiaki, two music students who who drive themselves and each other to greater artistic heights, and find themselves on parallel paths in Japan and later Europe.
Ninomiya launched the manga in Kiss in 2001, and ended it in 2009. Kodansha published 23 compiled book volumes for the series. Del Rey published 16 volumes of the manga in North America until the publisher ceased releasing manga. The manga was adapted into three television anime series, and has also received live-action drama and film adaptations.
Ninomiya launched her ongoing manga 87 Clockers in the Shueisha's Jump Kai magazine in 2011. Ninomiya recently ended her Onigiri Tsūshin - Dame Mama Nikki essay manga about her life as a mother in the January issue of Shueisha's Monthly You magazine on December 15.
