The official website for Kodansha's Be Love magazine revealed on Saturday that the magazine's August issue on July 1 will start a new Seito Shokun! manga by Yōko Shōji. The manga will take place seven years after Nakki starts her trip featured in the end of the Seito Shokun! -Saishūshō: Tabidachi- manga.
The original Seito Shokun! manga serialized in Kodansha's Shojo Friend magazine from 1977-1984. A sequel, Seito Shokun! Kyōshi-hen (Teacher Arc), launched in 2004 and ended in 2011. Seito Shokun! -Saishūshō: Tabidachi- (Attention Students! Final Chapter: Departure) began in 2011, and ended in Be Love on March 1. Kodansha published the 30th compiled volume of Seito Shokun! -Saishūshō: Tabidachi- on April 12.
The manga follows an energetic girl named Nakki who used to live with her grandparents but returns home to her weak and sick twin sister and a new school. She begins the story as a student, but when she grows up she becomes a teacher.
The manga has inspired several live-action adaptations and a 1986 anime special.
