Halca Performs Ending Theme for We Never Learn: BOKUBEN Anime's 2nd Season

posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
New key visual also revealed for series premiering on October 5

The official Twitter account for the television anime of Taishi Tsutsui's We Never Learn (Boku-tachi wa Benkyō ga Dekinai) manga revealed on Saturday that halca (themes for Ace Attorney Season 2, Kaguya-sama: Love is War, Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku) will perform the ending theme song "Hōkago no Liberty" (Afterschool Liberty) for the anime's second season. The account also revealed a new key visual.

The anime will premiere on Tokyo MX, Gunma TV, Tochigi TV, and BS11 on October 5 at 24:30 (effectively October 6 at 12:30 a.m.). The show will then debut on AT-X on October 7, TV Aichi on October 8, MBS on October 12, and on Nagasaki Culture Telecasting on October 16. Study will perform the opening theme song "Can now, Can now."

The first season premiered on April 6. Aniplex of America has licensed the anime under the title We Never Learn: BOKUBEN, and is streaming the anime on Hulu, Crunchyroll, and FunimationNow.

Yoshiaki Iwasaki (Love Hina, Hayate the Combat Butler, Last Period: the journey to the end of the despair) directed the anime at Studio Silver and Arvo Animation. Go Zappa (A Bridge to the Starry Skies, Beatless, Myself; Yourself) was in charge of series composition. Masakatsu Sasaki (Saki, Seiyu's Life!, A-Channel) designed the characters. Additionally, Satoshi Motoyama (WorldEnd, Oreimo) was the sound director at Magic Capsule, and Masato Nakayama (You and Me., My Little Monster) composed the music.

The manga is also inspiring a 25-minute video anime on Blu-ray Disc that will ship with a limited edition of the manga's 14th volume on November 1.

The manga's story centers on Yuiga, a student who is aiming for a scholarship because he comes from a poor family. His school gives him a condition: he can have a recommendation for a scholarship if he tutors his two beautiful classmates to help them get into the schools of their choice. Ogata may be a science genius and Furuhashi a literature prodigy — but Ogata is aiming for a liberal arts school and Furuhashi is aiming for a science school. And they're both clueless outside their fields of expertise.

Tsutsui launched the manga in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in February 2017. Viz Media publishes the manga in English.
