PONOS Announces Version 2 Update of Strategy Game The Battle Cats
Kyoto, 27 March 2015:Japanese mobile game developer PONOS Corp. released Version 2.0 of their “weirdly cute” strategy game The Battle Cats earlier this week. An English version of the oddball tower defense game, long known as a runaway success in Japan and Korea, was finally released in September 2014 to rave reviews from both iOS and Android users, breaking through the two-millionth download mark in the early days of March 2015.
In addition to rebalanced unit and enemy traits, new features and content included in this meaty update include:
- A new User Rank system to reward player dedication by unlocking higher level caps for their characters as they
collect and upgrade a greater variety of units.
- Kamcord integration allowing users to easily record and share gameplay video and strategies with fellow players
(currently only supported on iOS, Android compatibility to follow at a later date).
- Fourteen new challenging Blitz Stages that unlock new “Awakened” versions of popular Cat characters.
- “Metal Cyclone” challenges each Tuesday and Thursday, with a terrifying boss character to defeat for special in-game
rewards.
- Four new Uber Rare-grade members of the Nekoluga clan of creepy but powerful ghoul-Cats.
- Over a dozen new original Super Rare-grade characters and new Uber Rare-grade additions to popular character sets
Vajiras Wargods and Galaxy Gals.
PONOS will celebrate the achievement of this milestone with campaigns offering users free premium characters for their army, and a different variety item (from in-battle power-ups and experience points to premium Cat Food currency) delivered to players as a login bonus every weekday.
