Bandai Namco Filmworks & Fathom Events Bring Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM To U.S. and Canadian Theaters this May

March 29, 2024 (Tokyo, Japan) – Earning 4.1 Billion Yen (Approximately $27M USD) at the box oBice in Japan since its initial release in January, Bandai Namco Filmworks Inc. and Fathom Events announced today, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM, the latest animated theatrical entry in the Gundam series, is coming to North American theaters on May 7 and 8.

Produced by Bandai Namco Filmworks and Directed by Mitsuo Fukuda, Mobile Suit Gundam Seed FREEDOM continues the story first told with the TV Series “Mobile Suit Gundam Seed” and its sequel “Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny”.

Exclusive to the Fathom screening is a special video message from Director Mitsuo Fukuda!

Fans across the U.S. and Canada will be able to enjoy this event in approximately 800 select movie theaters combined. A complete listing of participating theaters will be available on the Fathom Events website (theaters and participants are subject to change).

The Japanese language with English subtitles version will be screened in both countries on May 7. The English dubbed version will be screened on May 8 in the US.

Tickets for Mobile Suit Gundam Seed FREEDOM will go on sale on April 5 and can be purchased online at Fathom Events or participating theater box oBices.

C.E. (Cosmic Era). An era in which there are human beings called Coordinators, born with superior physical and mental abilities thanks to genetic modification, and humans called Naturals who are born naturally.

[Story]

In C.E.75, the fighting continues. There are independence movements, and aggression by Blue Cosmos... In order to calm the situation, a global peace monitoring agency called COMPASS is established, with Lacus as its first president. As members of COMPASS, Kira and his comrades intervene into various regional battles. Then a newly established nation called Foundation proposes a joint operation against a Blue Cosmos stronghold.
