I don't think fake pumpkins should be counted; they are custom made to make carving them easier, it's much more difficult slaving over the actual gourd (which I can attest to, spending a few hours on mine last night...). So anyone using a fake pumpkin would have a built in advantage.

Bightness and contrast edits are okay provided they are done across the image, not on a particular portion of the image.

I also find that the fake carving pumpkins are far easier to cut than the real thing...the scooping of the guts, the digging along the walls, the chopping, cutting with juice flowing out...the real thing is the challenge. Heck, the fake ones are designed to be carved. I don't think nature intended the real ones to be made into fun designs...thus the challenge.
That, and I hope people don't use store bought pumpkin designs...of course, a brief search of the net and you could tell if they did or not. But I very much doubt you can find anime pumpkin carving designs for sale

I couldn't get a pumpkin. Well I saw some pumpkins but they were all crap for the design I wanted to do and I couldn't find another place to get pumpkins. I used to love New Jersey now it's gone down a scale to like.

I made a pumpkin of Ichigo from Bleach with part of his Hollow mask on, but I can't submit it because my scanner's not working and I can't find my digital camera. X_x But maybe I'll still post pictures of it some time after the contest. ^^ Though as you can probably tell from the spoiler tags, it might spoil stuff for people who haven't seen at least up to volume 8 of the Bleach manga.

Maybe later tonight or tomorrow. I've been busy studying for GREs so I haven't had much time to do stuff lately.

I'm amazed you're even *thinking* about getting it done so quickly! Good luck studying!
And I can't wait to see them!

Good luck everyone who entered!
EDIT:
Where will the results be posted and how will we know when they are posted?

Don't worry about us. Study for those GREs. GRE for Dummies is a good last minute prep. Can't help with the major-specific ones.

I didn't mean to sound rude or impatient, I was just curious. Sorry if it came out that way. Clearly studying is more important.

I don't think you sounded rude at all! You just keep getting quoted because when we quote SakechanBD, we end up quoting you too.
You just asked what we were all dying to know and too chicken to ask. So props man!

When you post the winners of the contest, where can we go to see them?
