So it's either release this or release AO (maybe for digital, but not for physical as they don't have leverage with shops, so they'll have 2 separate SKUs).
One would think those who'd buy those games are open-minded enough what to expect. |

Yeah but I want to air on the side of caution for political and gaming stigmata sake. You do realize this has to go before a board of people to be judged on all of it's objectionable content to get a rating from the esrb rating right?? I don't think the ESRB are open minded as other people are and this would mostly like give this an A/O rating. |

An A/O rating would not be a negative thing. The fans who are going to buy this could care less what rating it has. It is the fans who are the target market, not the mainstream market. |

Thid wouldnt get rated A/O by the ESRB even with the loli scenes. GTA V is M and it has raw dicks, bare tits, extreme violence including a very explicit torture scene among other things. If anything it would be rated M which theyre probably trying to avoid.
Bottom line is its completely anti consumer and NISA will see lost sales because of it. |

It's not anti-consumer.
It's not because America is against sex as a rule. Underage sex is a different thing. NISA is just trying to cover their ass. How dare they do that! How dare they try to avoid any problems so that they can continue bringing out those niche games that so many other companies are just begging to bring out. Is the removal of a irrelevant mini game enough to throw out a perfectly fine localization? Sounds kind of ridiculous. "THIS NICE AND TASTY CAKE DOESN'T HAVE THOSE SMALL HARDLY TASTEABLE SPRINKLES SCREW IT ALL" Though I wonder if they released it without edits would it even gain any attention. Not like Persona 3 ever did. These are super niche games that probably fly under the radar.

You do realize Sony refuses to allow AO rated games to release on their systems, right? |

The West, not just America, is quite sensitive to depictions of underage sexualization. Once they're of age, they could whore them out for all they care - but not before.
It's not the consumers; it's the gatekeepers that matter in this case. |

Its completely anti consumer. Its the very definition. Japan gets the full game. Everyone else gets a censored uncomplete game. That is being anti consumer to everyone not from Japan. |

To be anti-consumer would to not bring the game at all and to say screw you we don't care about you.
They are doing this to actually release the game. NISA can't help the different culture climates between Japan and the US. You want them to release it and then have them catch heat because their game has "child pornography" in it? That would be cool, I guess no more Mugen Souls games or maybe games from NISA in general. That would be nice. This entire complaining from people like you is extremely childish. You're getting the game. They aren't trying to radically change it or downplay where it's from. They are doing probably as little changes as possible for the fans, so they can actually release the game for........the fans. You don't want it? I guess import it. Pay more money for a game (maybe) you can't understand all because they took out an irrelevant mini game. Do you need to see loli's in sexually suggestive situations and positions that much? Does this game suck that much that that becomes it's main appeal? "Oh it's about the principals" No it really isn't. Because it's not like NISA is trying to censor and change the whole game. It's not even like they are trying to butcher it so they can sell to the mainstream crowd. Anti-Consumerism is something else entirely. |

Its not child pornography in any shape or form. Not even close. So theres no problem there. Again they are releasing an incomplete product for fans outside Japan. That is anti consumer to anyone not Japanese. There is no way around that.
The game could be released as is and it would be perfectly fine. Various other games release loli bathing scenes and catch no flak from it whatsoever. Censorship is never the answer and the sooner these Japanese companies learn that the better. |

The Arland Atelier series comes to mind. Agarest comes to mind. Also as I understand it they are removing the clothed bathing mini game but keeping in the nude hot springs scenes. If they're keeping one there's really no reason they can't keep the other.
Youre right we are getting the game. But I wont support censorship so I wont buy it. If you or anyone else will buy it regardless, good on you. |

@RyanSaotome
The game was released by Sony in Japan, in its uncut form. So Sony has no problem with the content. NISA is the only one in the U.S. that would have to care about the rating. In the end, the only people in the U.S. who would buy the game is the fans who already know all about it already. |

That's true, Japan and US censor each other games. So how is that any different, I guess fair is fair, US censor Japanese game, and Japan censor American games, also Japan has censor US games if it has nudity too: Mafia 2 playboy magazine censor in Japan Far Cry 3 sex scene censored in Japan Even Call of Duty is not even immune to the censorship in Japan: Modern Warfare 2 Black Ops Black Ops 2 Last edited by mdo7 on Thu Oct 24, 2013 10:26 am; edited 1 time in total |

What happens in one region doesn't mean it will go the same here. The Cero had to rate the game in Japan. Here the ESRB would have to rate it and if it did get an AO rating Sony America would deny it and retailers wouldn't stock it. |
