Can I just ask something? I know this is a bit odd and off topic, but why do anime companies keep revealing characters before they arrive? Seems a bit silly, because not only can spoiler fanatics just go read the manga but for those who don't like spoilers the surprise is ruined.
I'm not going against the site, as its news and it doesn't matter but I'm wondering why. Is it to sell more merchandise? Wouldn't a character seem more important if he was introduced in-show rather than in these announcements?
Just a question. Not trying to get angry; just confused. Baffled even.

Finally a more hands-on villain.

He's in the OP, lol.
It's to build up hype, draw in fans of the VA, and so on.

Standard hype building for the adaptation aside, the goal at the end of the day is still to sell more of the source material. If anything gets more people to buy the manga, then... mission accomplished, more or less.

That's the information age for you. We live in a world where people stream anything through a phone and crowdfund a release of anything. Or at least try on both accounts. The point is if you need to sell anything, no matter what era, promotion is key. This is just how things work now.
If Naruto had premiered today instead over a decade(?) ago, I guarantee we'd be getting hype of Orochimaru by episode 5. Of course if they had waited a few years, they might not still be stuck in filler territory like right now, but I digress. Sign of the times, basically.

Hm, makes sense from a marketing perspective. Not from a story perspective, but from a marketing one I get it. Still wish they didn't.

The voice acting really fits the character I think.

I wonder if some people don't watch OPs until a show is done airing, just so they won't see characters that get introduced later on in the show.
If you've seen the OP then you know he's a character, and you can easily determine he's a villain based on what he's doing in the OP. So if you've seen the OP this article isn't spoiling anything other then what his voice sounds like, and even then people just don't have to click play if they don't want his voice acting spoiled.
Also as everyone has been saying it's all about generating hype, which hopefully gets more people into the show, which might help with sales and the possibility of the show getting another season.
Edit: I realized going over the article again I completely missed that it does include the episode that the character will be introduced, which I guess is kind of a big spoiler but it is literally the next episode so I doubt it's the end of the world.

I usually watch the OP if the music's good, but I don't pay attention to the visuals because I know there's going to be spoilers.

That's fair to each their own. Personally I like to see what future characters look like because it gets me excited, I can start to craft my own theories about the character, what's their backstory, powers, personality traits, goals and ambitions, and so fourth. The look of a character is only the tip of the iceberg.
Also personally even if I didn't want the slightest of spoilers I'd still be glad they are doing videos and things like this, it means the show is getting coverage and different kinds of coverage might pull more people into also enjoying the show. The more the merrier as the saying goes.

Looks to be handy for the Villain side.
Horrible puns aside, the lines about "societies trash" and "erase the symbol of peace" seems to hint at some deep seated grudge against heroes in general and All-Might in particular. Will be interesting to see how Deku handles a threat of that magnitude occuring near him.
On a different note: my imagination would like more details on the hero suite's, Bakugo's sweat-bazooka was inspired character design, so i would like to know more about how the costumes help the quirks.
