So... I haven't read BLACK CAT yet, I like the art and know its just a full-of-cliché manga, but I will buy it someday...
Since it sells sooo well (compared to most other titles) I think Viz will release it in Viz Big format, and thats what keeps me holding my money ;3 Anyway, Yabuki Kentaro is one of the Four kings of plagiarism, check this article here: http://comipress.com/article/2007/07/09/2267 |

i only learned about Black Cat when I was applying for editor position in a manga scanlation group. They gave me a page to clean, resize and redraw as a test. I got curious on what the story is about.
BTW, same mangaka as To-LOVE-Ru right? |

I enjoyed the series, although it wasn't super ground-breaking or anything. For me, it started off a little slow, but actually got a little better as time went on. ...then again I'm a sucker for the whole "let's go fight all of the bad guys"/shonen formula.
The anime was okay, but I think it would've been better if they just cut it off before the last 3 or 4 episodes. |

Black Cat's execution may not have been anything special, but its message and characters are strong and made it a worthwhile read for me.
