Looking at the poster, it looks like a whole new cast.

I watched the first season because I like to give everything a chance. And the art is really pretty, in my opinion. But this show is really just gross and cringeworthy. Not sure why anyone wants to watch abuse every 3 minutes. It's so uncomfortable to watch and nothing about it appeals to me. I'm actually really nervous when I meet people who like it because....bleh it's just a gross, dangerous mindset you're in when watching this and thinking it's okay.
I'm a fujoshi and I still can't stand this.

Rape fantasy is among top sexual fantasies for women, in top three I believe. No surprise this stuff is popular even though nobody admits liking it.

This s*** gets a second season and so many much more deserving things don't? That's really sad.

Nice, looking forward to this a lot. Adored the first series despite not being their target audience at all, just watched it on a whim and did not regret it. Sexy vampires being vampires with an interesting plot and solid main girl. Long(ish) wait though.

I'll be watching this. I might as well since I managed to watch all of the first season (including the pointless recap) and the OVA. Some seiyuu that I like are in it (Suzuki Tatsuhisa, Kaji Yuuki, Hirakawa Daisuke) too.

Even fujoshi didn't like Diabolik Lovers anime. First season flopped in disc sales. |

Then who IS the target base? Who wants to play as someone who gets constantly molested and abused? I don't get it. This makes no sense. I can understand the appeal of almost anything, but this one completely eludes me. Why is the game popular? |
Have you ever heard of the word "fetishists?"
because the target audience is obviously people who have a serious fetish for this kind of stuff.

Oh good god this show. And the amount of screaming from the fanbase that will ensue over this I think disturbs me more than the actual show itself.

I thought I would like it because vampires and I liked the character designs, but the only reason I got through it is because the episodes were only 15 minutes long and I liked VAs...I'll admit I'm curious as to what they will do with the second season though.

I'm a fujoshi and I enjoyed this series. It had pretty much everything I wanted - lovely artwork, hot bishonen, corruption and blood sucking. Would have enjoyed it more had one of the boys actually had gone through with the deed, but hey...second season.
I never got the feeling that the heroine, Yui, was stupid. She's just very naive and trusting to the point where it almost kills her. She clings to her religion despite being abandoned by it. As far as reverse harem anime protagonists goes, she's far better and more believable than Chizuru from the Hakuouki franchise (she took sword lessons for years but yet can't defend herself..ever), better than the Tamayori-hime from Hiiro no Kakera and as more of a personality than Haruka from UtaPri. Not that this means that Yui is a great character, but when it comes to reverse harem protagonists being riveting characters in their own right, it's slim pickings.

Disc sales aren't really the issue. My guess is the game sold, and Idea Factory sees the potential for more sales so they are funding a second season.
Like others here, this is not my cup of tea at all. Unlikely to ever be released here unless they do a GREE type iphone/android version.
They may keep releasing stuff for the PSP over in Japan, but US don't seem very interested in anything that is not for the latest console.

I kept hoping the first season would end as a classic revenge set piece, with tons of evil vampire blood spraying everywhere. Instead it stayed true to form as abuse porn. Sad.
Not much hope for the second season.
