Well, you can also use a tag search the opposite way to eliminate titles like that which you don't want to end up reading if you don't like that particular thing.

Where are they getting this data, though? They're probably not tracking the easy little thing of going to pixiv and clicking R-18 in the top corner. This is probably from silly aggregator sites and things like that.

Then again, New York did rank. Though considering the rest of it, probably upstate. People in the city probably have better ways of getting Hentai than people in Wyoming.

Really, if you want good hentai, look on Pixiv. (this shouldn't be breaking any rules - anyone who likes anime should be looking at Pixiv anyway. If you don't already know it, it's like Japan's version of DeviantArt. It has mostly non-h art, but they're more welcoming of R-18 work than DeviantArt and other western sites. But at the same time, I sort of hope word doesn't get out about that enough for them to change that part of it. I like the way they have both in the same place. Sometimes you'll be looking at a stack of fanart from an artist, and then it will suddenly turn H, and that's an interesting surprise.)

Yeah, this kind of demographic info can always be misleading. Like, I remember back when Romney was the Republican candidate there was a lot of posting about how Utah consumes the most porn on the internet per capita. It turned out that was only referring to paying websites for porn, which is just a tiny, tiny spec of porn sites on the web.

Northern neighbors leaving us in the dust again. Come on, brethren, I'm high-tier, but can't solo for the whole country. Sad

Truth. Most people who consume porn are probably not paying for it. And their over all consumption is likely significantly higher than it is in Utah. This thing says almost nothing about actual hentai consumption, other than noting a few places where Project H books has customers.

Not surprised to see Ireland so high in the country list. One of the two biggest conventions over here always ran a hentai panel on the Friday night around 11pm and it was always standing room only.

I bet most of the people consuming it aren't hardcore christians. Just a guess. Even in the bible-belt states, there are plenty of people who just happen to liver there, and aren't into whatever their state is known for.

Excuse me, but that's discriminatory and I'm offended by that comment.

Because it's in a "Bible Belt" state or a "Red State" doesn't automatically mean those people are Christian. They do not provide where in those states had the highest activity. Given the latest political map of the US, those visiting Hentai sites very well could've came from the populated cities in those states, which happen not to be red.

That was literally my point.... Rolling Eyes

This is a pointless analysis as a whole, as Project H probably has a small paying customer base that isn't very statistically representative of any of the areas that it services. The whole caveat that they noted was probably a bad idea in general. It's just unnecessarily incendiary and comes across as them trying to insult their customer base... maybe not a super great idea.

Ehhh, calling netorare the same cuckoling is sort of reductive. At the base definition you can make them the same, but unless cuckolding has a wider definition than being the husband of a cheating wife, netorare is about unrequited loves and family members as well. It's a larger spectrum, and cuckolding focuses on the man much more often.

Project-H included a caveat with the infographic, stating "Hentai fans were overwhelmingly present in Trump-voting states and the bible belt."
I pulled up the Project-H blog post and I can't find that caveat anywhere.
