I only know her due to Danganronpa's Kaede and the anime themes but I really liked her songs used for the opening and ending of the 2016 anime. Rest in peace
|

Small correction: Ms. Kanda's switch-cast costar in My Fair Lady is Manato Asaka, not Minato [sic] Asaka.

This is heartbreaking learning about the news of Sayaka Kanda's passing at 35 years of age.
I only knew her for her work on Sword Art Online and especially for providing the voice of Anna in the Japanese versions of Frozen, Frozen II and Kingdom Hearts III. Now she is the 6th voice actor from Kingdom Hearts III to pass away after Koji Tsujitani (Woody), Yuu Shimaka (Goofy), Makio Inoue (Eraqus), Keiji Fujiwara (Axel/Lea), and Genzo Wakayama (Ansem the Wise). it's pretty similar to how Arihiro Hase(Hikaru from Macross) died,especially if it's confirmed it was suicide...

I knew her mostly from her SAO role. Didn't know that her career was already pretty long and she had come from a prestigious background. Man, her parents must be devastated.

I don't know much about her other works but I fondly remembered the songs she did for the Danganronpa 3 anime. Its always shocking to see this kind of thing happen...

I'm no expert at police jargon/procedure, but I would guess that "investigating the possibility of suicide" is a way of saying "we have found no apparent signs of violence or accident." |

This is really sad news.
I wasn't a fan of SAO but I absolutely loved her songs and listened to them a lot. I'd also watched a little bit of Idoly Pride, and while I hadn't seen much I had been planning on watching more. I think I'll probably be too sad to watch it now, especially considering the story... My heart goes out to her friends and family. |

People here might not know, but she was the daughter of legendary pop idol Seiko Matsuda. Her turbulent relationship with her mother and difficult past were well-known.
A very, very tragic story. Still shocked myself. Wishing the best for her friends and family. |
