I thought there was going to be a trailer of some sort for this at Comic-Con but apparently it was just some behind the scenes footage.

I wonder how far along post-production is. I'm genuinely curious to see how the finished product looks.

That Variety article mentions that Toei already blew sixty mil on the project.

Is that enough? I'd imagine this project has to be CGI-heavy.... at least for those flashy moves.

Probably not. But it's also worth reminding people that 60mil on a film isn't uncommon anymore. That's considered low budget by major holywood standards now.

OOT: Makes me wonder how Neill Blomkamp was able to make District 9 with only 30 mil (if wikipedia is to be believed). Confused

Toei (who really want Saint Seiya to be at the same level of Dragonball internationally).

That's pretty much a no. If Toei wants Saint Seiya to be big they'd have put more care into some of the more recent anime it got. Not the shit tier quality animation that Soul of Gold and Saintia Sho got.

Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, Rurouni Kenshin, One Piece and now Saint Seiya. Is Mackenyu trying to appear in every live action Shonen Jump adaptation?

He's got nothing on Kento Yamazaki, who's appeared in a ton of live-action manga adaptations which is even joked about in the trailer for The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.
