This kinda sums it up. I'm not really looking for a rookie who can use the position to get their feet wet; I need someone with a lot of experience, who's reliable, and preferably freelances for a living. There are other positions we have that are perfect for newbie writers, but this isn't really one of them. On the off chance that someone with little to no experience turns in sample reviews that exhibit mind-blowing writing, then I'll consider them, but writing reviews like this is a combination of writing skill and professionalism, being able to handle deadlines without giving me a hundred excuses why their stuff isn't in on time, etc. |

@Zac: Are there any more open smaller jobs? I've been looking for something job-wise to do to make money while being in school. I don't want it to be something that takes up my time to go outside the house to do, then i won't have time to study. Note that i'm of age, otherwise i wouldn't bother asking.

I don't think this is a paying job, but rather volunteer work because you like to do what the job description is asking. Only three members of the entire ANN staff actually get payed to do their work here. |

The final sentence of the first paragraph clearly states that it is a paid position... |

No. Only three members of the ANN staff are full-time salaried employees. Everyone who writes content for the site is paid.
Currently we have no other openings, but this isn't the way to go about asking me about it, either. |

Bah, why the hell is ANN finally taking reviewers when I'm too busy to apply?
 And most of my articles are tied to a dead site to boot. double  I guess, in my place, I'd nominate Furious Famicom F***ot.

Fair enough, but I believe that was not what I was asking. I would hope after making a news posting about it that you would announce you were adding someone to the staff.. I was just asking about that. Sorry if it bothered you that I inquired as to the status of an opening. |

Generally we don't announce review staff, or any staff for that matter. Hell, when I came on as executive editor a year and change ago, there was no announcement. Odds are you'll just start seeing game reviews show up once every 2 weeks or so. It didn't bother me that you asked about it, but normally that's the kind of question we get when people are waiting to see whether or not they won a contest. |
