This is starting to feel like the .hack universe where there's many forms of the series and to understand it all you gotta go and acquire the different mediums the stories are presented in.

The Type Moon stories are only vaguely related and it is not necessary to see any of them to understand the others, except for something like Fate/Hollow Ataraxia which is a sequel to Fate/Stay Night. They all take place in the same world so some characters in story A have met or are related to characters in story B but it isn't relevant to the stories themselves.

mirror moon is working on a translation for the PC version of the game, one route is done I believe, and their a good ways into the second route. The PC version will be harder to find and more expensive though, keep in mind a patch is just a translation and providing the game you need is entirely up to you. Not to mention the PC version has all the porno and stuff the PS2 doesn't, if that matters.

No the pron material doesn't matter but if this PC version is real and is translated (via a patch or whatever else I need to do it) then it's worth getting. Christmas is just around the corner anyway so a nice gift idea, or belated gift idea.

Although the PS3 can play Japanese PS3 games sadly enough it doesn't play import PS2 games. I don't know if a handful of games (I love the Super Robot Wars games and played them up to the Saturn one) are worth me buying an import PS2. You can find the Fate/Stay night PS2 version on eBay if you have a Japanese PS2.

yes the PC version is real, it came before the PS2 version actually, and it does have a dedicated translation group, they have released a full english translation for tsukihime, and melty blood, along with the tuskihime PLUS I believe. Not to mention when it all comes down to it, a PC version is more practical since you won't need to mod your system of buy a import system. I don't know if they still make the PC version or not. I am only aware of one site that has it, it starts with a H, sorry but I don't want to give it away to anymore people than who already may know, gotta protect my future possessions.

Also, here is the chart I mentioned earier. Contains Major Spoilers for Fate/Stay Night (the anime and the other scenarios). I don't think it spoils much for Tsukihime and Kara no Kyoukai, but be wary.

The Nasu-verse

Interesting but the type is too small for me to read. Tried magnifying it in Fireworks but it just gets blurred.

Damn, the image was too big and Photobucket shrunk it. My version is much, much bigger than that and reads just fine. I'll see if I can figure something out.

Edit: Okay, here is where I got it from.
Nasuverse relationship chart.

They all take place in the same universe, and are loosely related yeah. Rather than actual character cameos though it's more "Hmm that family name is familliar, I remember it from X" sorta relationships. For instance in the Tsukihime game a conversation Shiki and Akiha Tohno are having reveals that members of the Kugamine family were once residing in the Tohno mansion and were either relatives or family friends. Akiha gave them the boot once she was the head of the family. I didn't see that detal reflected in the chart though it could be translation error on the part of the very kind people that made an English patch for the game. I do see that a Tonami Kugamine was Akiha's spoiler[Fiance] in Kegetsu Toya, however. It's unclear to me whether he's related to the Kugamines or if that's just his first name.
