I think actors can actually get kicked out of the union if they take non-union jobs, and that could be very, very bad for their careers. Hence the aliases in the first place.

Based on the language she listed as being fluent on her website, she's Taiwanese-American and her real name should be Stephanie Sheh. She probably adopted a Japanese moniker to help her get auditions in the VA industry. |

I voted for number one because she pulled off the moe whispered undertone and detached unemotional persona for me.
The others were either too forced or too cute. |

mrgh... i'll have to listen to them carefully, but, from the first try, number one, by far, the best one VA as itsuki. Also, 3 seems to be good.

the comments are gone for now... I didn't like any of them for Itsuki. 2-4 is just "random anime guy" voices. 2 is probably the guy who did Inuyasha and that's a no go. I just picked 5 cus he sonded more carefree like Itsuki. |

I had to listen to these pretty carefully. 5 sounded too offhand, to me (which Itsuki is, just not so much). 4 sounded too old, 2's acting wasn't that good.
So I listened to 1and 3 a bunch of times, then finally went with three because I see his voice as matching better with the character. At first I thought number 5 was the worst but I have to say after listening to it again im gunning for either 1 or 5, the rest were.....hmmm, well they sucked to be blunt  imo anyways.

I picked #2 for Itsuki. Had the most carefree and Daisuke Ono-like voice, IMO.
All this voice choosing is really fun. Gives me even more incentive to buy the DVDs when they come out. |

1: Johnny Yong Bosch
2: 3: 4: 5: Crispin Freeman? I think Johnny would be good in this one; I thought of him first as Kyon, but now, I dunno...he almost sounds too young. He fits well as Itsuki , though. Gotta say, being able to peek in on the audition process like this is just too fun!  I wonder if the VA's would rather not be publicly scrutinized like this, though.
