b: 14-Dec-2003 pc: FABF02 w: Michael Price d: Steven Dean Moore

The opening intro to last Sunday's "The Simpsons" on Fox had an anime theme to it.

Couch: There is no living room and the couch is replaced by a bench at a Japanese bus stop, where the family's TV is also located. The various family members fly on screen dressed as different characters from popular Japanese shows: Homer is Ultraman Tiga; Bart is Astroboy, Lisa is Sailor Moon; Marge is Princess/Susan from Battle of the Planets and Maggie is Pikachu from Pokemon.

That is awsome! Laughing That would be even funnier if they did a whole episode with that, but, then again, they'd probably get sued pretty good. Anime smallmouth + sweatdrop

Acually, if the creators wanted to do that they would make sure to get the permission to do it first. After all these years they've made so many references and had so many special guests that they could probably do it if they really wanted. But too many Simpsons fans probably aren't fans of anime, so i don't see it happening because of that.

Ah, maybe the reason they didn't do it because not too many Simpsons fans don't watch anime or know what it is. Surprised

For some reason, Lisa-as-Sailor Moon didn't quite register with me, and I saw Sunday's episode twice (the east coast and west coast transmissions on Bell ExpressVu).

The episode was mostly downhill after that...
