Given she lacks the headband our hero has, I'd say they're some sort of neural link, like those hairclips from Evangelion.

Watched the first episode online to get a feel for it. It's...certainly something. What that thing is, I'm not sure, but it's absolutely something.
Tried the dub to get a feel for the nationalities. Not bad, for the most part.
Brittney, I love you girl. But I'm not sure about your British. Maybe after a while, I don't know. Your Anya in Negima took time as well. But yours sounded so much older in that one.

Since the English VAs try to give accented English to their characters, does VA for Rinin Fang speak in a Chinese-English accent?
I might need to check out the dub just hear how it sounds.

No, pretty much only the European characters get accents. That's probably for the best. I can't imagine Hilary Haag trying to do a Chinese accent....lol

Blah...then what's the point of just giving the Euro characters accents. Might as well just have everyone speak with no accent then.

The lack of an accent for Rinin Fang makes sense. Part of the plot was that she had lived in Japan for an extended period as a child. She therefor would likely speak Japanese without an accent. She might, in fact, speak Chinese with a Japanese accent though she is young enough that both are without any accent.

I forgot about that bit. I haven't seen the show since it aired. Thanks.

You mean does she sound like a terribly forced British accent? Oh yes. Fake British accents are sort of a season I'm glad Emma didn't receive an American dub, or it would end up sounding like Licensed by Royal. They tried in that dub, but you could so easily tell how not-English it was.
