Just a fat finger misspelling of Prince Endymion aka Tuxedo Mask.

I can't see this reboot as anything but a remake that is more faithful to the original manga. To go with something original AGAIN would be a mountain of work for the Toei production staff. It may have been standard procedure during the 80's and 90's but I'm starting to see that even Toei isn't really open to doing fillers as much as they used to. It's less brainstorming on their part if they can just use the original manga for storyboards and make only the absolute necessary tweeks to fit in with today's viewing audience.

It's been way too long. Y'know, when I was a kid, I adored Sailor Moon as much as I did Spiderman and Batman and other heroes of that caliber. The whole series has been near and dear to me for my entire life, and this excites me to no end. Welcome back, Usagi and Co. Smile

Can't wait to see what it will be!
And today I saw a clip on youtube of Sailor Mars and thought first that it's a preview from it:

Well, this may explain why Funimation hasn't rescued the original series.

There's also a bit of competition for the original series as well. Funimation isn't the only company interested in it. However, a new series could hold up things for a bit now.
But without a complete redub no one would get the complete series, but only the episodes that DIC dubbed and released, therefore no better off. To try and back dub the missing episodes to fill in would be a logistical nightmare as who knows where the original VAs are, or if they are even still alive, we are talking 20 years since now.

Checking their IMDB pages, a good majority seem to be still getting work as recent as this year.

Exceptions so far:

- Sailor Mercury's first VA (Karen Bernstein) who hasn't had an acting role since 2002.

- Sailor Moon's Second VA (Terri Hawkes) hasn't done a role since 2007.

- Molly/various monsters VA (Mary Long) hasn't done a role since 2005.

- Sailor Venus' first VA (Stephanie Morgenstern) hasn't has a role since 2009.

- Queen Beryl's VA (Naz Edwards) hasn't had a role since 2002.

- Eudial and Diana's VA (Loretta Jafelice) hasn't had a role since Sailor Moon.

I'm not going through the full list, but depending on how much energy they want to exert, for the most part a good number would appear to be available.

Now of course there's a few other factors that would go with casting the voices, like how much their voices may have changed since, and etc.

Of note, Sailor Venus' second voice actor is also a Jazz musician. I thought that was interesting.

For what it's worth there's no set time broadcast date as of yet, so until something official comes out most people seem to be going with Summer.

This may be a late question, but what do you mean by "worldwide simultaneous release?" As far as I know this means Japan and North America (via internet streaming) only.

No one knows yet, so keep an eye on the news. We'll get more information as we get nearer to the air date on what the producers consider "worldwide".

Just came across this late. That's what happens when you looking up how many volumes are in the manga series because a student requests 5 -10. So a new series this should be interesting.

I've only seen a little of the series and was pretty impressed with it, but I wasn't a huge follower of it so I probably won't be able to compare it to the new show. Won't be long before you see the old series streamed on streaming provider like the way Rose of Versailles is. I hope that we do get a network like this for older anime shows.
