Well I always knew that I would need to heavily consider buying some of BANDAI's titles before they went oop...I just didn't think that would happen so soon. I really need to evaluate which of their remaining titles I haven't purchased are a must buy for me.

I really hope that some studio like Funimation will save some of these titles. I hate when stuff like OOP Manga and Anime go up in price.

Compared to other companies such as Geneon, this is a very orderly, fan friendly demise. We got several months notice of the company's shut down and are still getting advance notice of the discontinuance of existing lines. Geneon as I remember gave no notice and stopped distribution almost immediately. Some of their licenses are still tied up in paperwork.

If this orderly shut down is any indication, Bandai will likely move to sublicense their properties as soon as possible. What will disappear is the titles that didn't sell well for them.

You gotta be kidding. So Bandai has finally gone belly up legs in the air. Damn. Another pioneer gone. I bought a lot of good titles from them. My-Hime/Otome franchise, Code Geass and of course Big O, which was my first major series from them. Really a shame to see them go. I just bought the last of the My-HiME/Otome franchise. But like someone said, there was not way you could see this coming. Bandai has been out of the loop for years now. One minute they were pumping things out then slowly but surely things slowed down once the economy got bad.

Bandai I'll always have fond memories of you but you'll be sorely missed.

I finished the first season of Code Geass the day this news came out. I'm not sure if that's awful or amazing timing. Well, there goes my anime budget for the year. Guess Hellsing Ultimate will have to wait for now.

At least with Hellsing, you know it isn't going OOP anytime soon.

What a shame. I collected Haruhi Suzumiya Vol 1 and 2 and then I just gave up on the series.

That being said, I wonder if Funimation will relicense Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water?

Nadia is still available from Right Stuf's bargain bin in two sets ($15 each).

Bought all of my favorite Bandai titles a while ago. 100% of their Blu-ray catalog. All brand new copies, no online bargain scouring or media exchange shops Very Happy

Star Driver is my favorite release Bandai release. Wish it wasn't their last.

I think 'Nadia' is in ADV's inventory, not Bandai.
