I hope Funimation gets this soon.
Agreed. Hopefully they are just waiting for the ink on the contracts to dry. I never really expected to get so into these but the flow of the first one was so good and while I've stayed spoiler-free, I've heard this one is insanely good.

Cool, I can't wait. Everytime I watch 1.11, I like it more and more.

Evangelion is truly the Star Wars of anime. Both in terms of being revolutionary and having unnecessary re releases every year.

Don't know about that "unnecessary" part. I've only seen 1.01 so far, and even _that_ had a scant but significant game-changer or two for the franchise and its core storyline (albeit nowhere near as many as 2.xx has from what I keep hearing).

But how do you compare Lucas's and Anno's respective magnum opuses without touching upon the most important commonality...the eternal cycle of merchandising out the yin-yang? Seriously, the only things with more variations/versions than either the original 26-ep series or the Eva 1.0 movie are Rei and Asuka action figures/statues!
