Well, CLAMP's reputation probably doesn't help things. Also, I have this feeling that this won't be on TV for the same reason Saiyuki won't: it's too much fangirl fodder and not enough straight-up action. Inuyasha seems to have enough action (and longevity) to satisfy [as], but I don't think that's going to cut it for X or Angelic Layer or the action-lacked Tsubasa Chronicle.

E7 is pure awsome, the story is really hard to pull away from and the romance is excedingly well done. Best of all is that you get the superb characterixation so typicsl of Bones, making even the slower episodes a joy to watch.

Wowz, can't wait! Anime smile Thanks to RahX, I've been love with Bones and am looking forward to this series. And plus, Johnny Yong Bosch. Yum. Very Happy

"What about FMA or SAC?" I'm not big on Full Metal Alchemist or SAC. I think FMA is a little overrated and SAC just doesn't do much of anything for me.

If that's your opinion, then maybe you'd be better off with a netflix subscription and not watching [AS] all together. For the rest of the Anime-loving world, these are 2 of most highly thought of shows in recent history. But then again, if you like X, I can understand you not liking quality shows Laughing (/end cheap shot )

Seriously though, FMA's first arc building up to the present, is arguable it's worst. But if you can get through the setup, the second half is a wild roller coaster not to be missed.

GitS SAC is an amazing show, but IMO, very different than the slower paced original movie. The story line running through the complex episodes is a brilliant crime drama, and although they could be considered filler by some, the stand alone episodes are still very entertaining.

If these shows don't do it for you - especially FMA - then I highly doubt you'd be a fan of E7. As an FMA fan (and all around BONES-fanboy), I'd say that E7 is my favorite work of theirs. It's got everything that they're known for: deep main characters with a huge supporting cast, an engrossing story line, above average art, and excellent music. And if the last few subbed eps I've seen are anything to go on, it looks like we're in for another thrill-ride to the finish.

I think E7 is a great show, and I've preached it's influence all over this board. It will also fit right in with the rest of the shows on [AS], and although it's coming in with less hype than Naruto (lack of fansubing?) I'd expect it to perform better.

I couldn't have said it better myself, Mr. Lee. I just hope AS doesn't blame us if ratings are not to their liking.

Why not? If you don't tune in to watch it, you don't validate the chance they took picking it up. When FMA started to bite in the ratings in December 2004, was [as] to blame? When GITS: SAC wasn't even getting 300,000 week after week, who was to blame? I'm not attacking you, I just find the comment odd.

oh, and welcome to ANN. Wink

Not just lack of fansubbing, but the time it's been around. Look how long, time and episode wise, it took for Naruto to come state side. All the Japanese fan-boys talking about it and getting the American kids all excited... CN didn't have to hype anything, all they had to do was put it in their schedule. Not only that but the manga. Eureka 7 manga doesn't come out until next month, yet Naruto already had an established fanbase by the time the anime began airing.

I wonder how long before we see the Eureka 7 game. I remember EGM saying good things about it but that we would probably not get to see it state-side because of lack of fanbase due to it being an anime. The FMA game didn't take long to come over, and there were 2.

I sure hope the other time slot is not filled with more [as] crap. I'm glad no more PHF or Stroker... althought I admit Stroker was kinda funny... but heres hoping for a farewell to Squidbillies, 12Oz Mouse, and hoping Tom doesn't get ressurected. WTF is this Chuck Norris shit that just aired? That was just plain stupid.

Mai Hime? Dunno; kind of (really, actually) doubt it, though [as] has surprised me before.

I'm just incredibly pleased with Eureka seveN coming. Smile Great show (and this from someone who typically hates mecha titles--guess that shows that it's not really a mecha show) with terrific writing and plotting, and wonderfully written characters courtesy of the always good Dai Sato. Smile With the right marketing, I can see this as a big hit for Adult Swim.

Wonder what else they've got? *Prays it's not GunxSword, but fears it is...*

Per chance a reference to the growing annoyance for the not-so-aggressive promotions exerted by [as] for their anime programming? Wink Anime smile

Oh wow, so soon. I knew Adult Swim was going to get it, but not this soon Wink

Well, this is an excellent addition to the Adult Swim line-up. I hope it really helps out the anime ratings, but Adult Swim lacks promoting their anime. Hopefully they will seriously promote Eureka 7.

Here's hoping they will promote E7 like crazy. Wink

If they could score Mai Hime that would be one hell of a double feature. Can't think of any better suited recent shows.

Haha - there's no way I wrote that Laughing

Whatever they get to fill the "gap", I'm sure it will be good. After all of their recent Anime aquisitions, my confidence in them is higher than ever.

As for "[as] crap", I can only assume you're referring to their comedy originals. These can be hit or miss, but for the most part are (IMO) pretty funny. The humor seems to be spot on for the target demographic of adult males 18-34, although there are some cross-overs (some of the original Family Guy eps have references so old I don't even get them).

OT: Christ almighty...most of my favorites are up there in rank here at ANN, including X, so who's to say I don't like quality shows? Just because these two shows in particular don't interest me like they do most other people, this is what I get for it. I never even said they were bad or I disliked them, and I could most definitely watch FMA, but it doesn't draw me as much as some other shows do. You know, I give up.

The reason I said that was because AS pulled the banner for Eureka 7 from their site. If you don't promote the show, and the ratings suck... who is to balme? The same thing happened with FMA when they aired the new episodes. They didn't promote the new episodes until after they aired.

And thank you for welcoming me.
