It actually makes a cameo in the Kokoro OAV, if I remember correctly.

Actually it was a life raft that kokoro pulled out that said nice boat on the side. Regardless that was overflow/stack paying homage to the meme that started on message boards.

On a side note, I thought the game got licensed here when I quickly glanced at the headline before realizing that it was Discotek who licensed it.
The game actually is licensed and released in the US by Jast (my friend has it) http://schooldays.us/

That's the pc adlut version i'm talking about the all ages ported to ps2 called School Days LxH. Also my mistake it was the valentines day ova that came bundled with the special edition.

Oh, I was referring to the original. So then what did the magical girl one come bundled with?

from what i can gather it was just spin off stand alone ova. That would explain why it was easier to license than the ps2 bundled ova.

So why are people getting so worked up about a sub only DVD release by Discotek?

Oh yes, that would rule.

School Days is brilliant. Not only is it the dark side of the harem anime, but it's practically a morality play, with the moral being "Don't f**k around!"

Still surprised it's getting released, though!

So Discotek's release will be dvd-only...

It was released on bluray in Japan. Though that must have been an upscale from the original dvd version.

Oh man.

School Days is no masterpiece, that's for sure, but I think there's more to the show than its crazy infamous ending. It's a glimpse at the darker side of teenage relationships and is, dare I say, in some respects more realistic than most anime romance featuring teenagers.

spoiler[Sorry to be that guy, buuut... the game is much better, and much more worthy of purchase if the nookie don't bother you.]

The masters are the Japanese home video version, which should be uncut. The Valentines Day OVA is with a different company in Japan and apparently isn't cleared for international license.

Whoa! I never thought Discotek would release this! But more power to them, I suppose. They're still awesome.

And wow, Ringing Bell comes out the day before my birthday! Very Happy
