Oh god no... please no. I respect the guy, but after that snore fest of the Wind Rises, I dont wanna see a bad ghibli film again.

At this point, him being semi-retired is what I would compare to some overcoming an addiction. That is, they have it somewhat controlled but there are still times when they go back to their addiction then have it somewhat under control then it repeats.

Isn't this like the third or fourth time he's come out of retirement already? I mean, I like his movies, but come on man. Make up your mind.

A lot of ignorant and uninformed comments on this thread. I get that the contrarian stance towards Ghibli and Miyazaki has become the hip thing on this site, but give the guy a break already. Also: temper your expectations accordingly. He only made a project proposal to expand his previously announced CG short film into a full length feature. Even if it were to be made into a full length film, it would still be a computer animated effort titled Boro the Caterpillar. The Wind Rises was a prefect swan song and I'd rather he leaved it at that and continued with making it a short film for the Ghibli museum.

Miyazaki doing CG? Nooooooooooo!
Wind Rises was great, he finished his career on top of things. Now he should retire.

Miyazaki's retirement was a mistake.

What do you mean, "war movies lately?" He literally made one film years ago that had to do with WWII and it wasn't even a war film per se.

He should've never retired. But you can still do projects even when you retire. I mean you either do something with the time you have or you end up dying sitting idly by. So I'm glad he's staying busy.
