Her group did one of the best Pocket Monsters ending themes ever. Such a tragedy.

It's always heartbreaking when you see someone much younger than you die first. My condolences for her family and friends.

No way, this is such sad news. She passed away while she was so young. I hope she can rest in peace. My condolences to her family.

This is not Okay.
But in all seriousness, that's really sad, way too young. R.I.P. |

Why is it that whenever a Japanese celebrity dies it's always from an "unspecified disease"? Are there laws in Japan that stipulate the ability for medical personnel/family members to hide what they died from? I've frequented this site for a few years now and I've noticed that pattern for a while now every time there's news of a celebrity death in Japan. I just get the feeling a lot of times they use "unspecified disease" as a catch all response when they don't want to reveal that they died from an STD or a drug overdose.

^Just like in most countries, I'm assuming medical information is confidential. If the person themselves or the next of kin want to keep something private they have all rights to do so and the doctors can not release any information to anyone but law enforcement or other medical personnel or there could be legal penalties.
That's terrible. Rest in peace, you were taken long before your time. I feel bad for the family. |

Devastating. She was so vibrant and talented, but she'll live on in the hearts of her loved ones and fans.
I worry a lot for her bandmates... another idol group I follow lost two members to an accident very suddenly, but after taking a year off decided to keep pursuing music. But they were in their 20s, and some of the Ebisu girls are as young as 16... I can't imagine the pain they're going through right now. I hope their label gives them time to heal and gives them the therapy they'll need to cope with this terrible loss. |

Apparently they have (had?) a concert scheduled in Taiwan for Feb 18th, and then a long countrywide tour starting in April. I have no idea what the "standard operating procedure" would be for a situation like this. |

Cancellation I'd imagine, unless the band can find someone as talented to replace her in 10 days and is even okay with replacing her, which is not likely.

Official word is that cause of death was cardiac arrhythmia, or an irregular heartbeat.
I'm guessing that at that age it was likely some kind of a congenital disorder. |

Here is a source in Japanese from Nikkan Sports reporting that too. http://www.nikkansports.com/entertainment/news/1777139.html |
